OpenQwaq

Teleplace, the leading provider of virtual workspaces, announced a new open source project called OpenQwaq.

openqwaq

CEO Tony Nemelka said in a Hypergrid business interview (see below): “Not enough people are exposed to the technology. We felt that there was an obligation we had, to expose a lot more people to the technology. The open source release of the platform will do no economic harm to us and will benefit the market as a whole.” I am persuaded that Teleplace has the best technology for real communication, collaboration and education in telepresence, and I think open sourcing OpenQwaq is a great and visionary initiative.

This opens new and exciting possibilities for the teleXLR8 project, and our team is planning to reload the project with OpenQwaq. See this summary of teleXLR8, and stay tuned for more.
